Our June Lunch and Learns main topic was Self-Control where Lisa Lofty was our guest speaker. She has been an RN for over eleven years and has taken control of her own weight problem. She offers a free 6-week program that she refers to as, “Healthy, Whole, and In Control”. We learned from Lisa that the two most important things we can do is drink lots of water and exercise.
One of the first things you have to do is set a goal for yourself. You cannot achieve a goal, if you have not set one for yourself. You have to learn how to manage your unhealthy habits by figuring out what causes them and then how you can manage them. And, you need to train yourself to know when you are really hungry as opposed to eating for entertainment or comfort. The three keys to weight loss is giving yourself choices, accountability, and commitment.
